Sweet Blessings Cake Mix Drive

Each month BCMS takes part in a community service project through our "Colonel Community." Our first two this year have been a backpack drive and a cake mix drive for Sweet Blessings. The backpacks are donated to an organization that fills them with supplies for homeless people in Central Kentucky. The cake mixes are donated to Sweet Blessings, an organization that makes birthday cakes for children who may not otherwise get a cake.

This year, we donated 110 backpacks. Mrs. McCarty and Mrs. Speakes' advisory classes were the top contributors.

During the cake mix drive, we collected 2376 cake mixes to give to Sweet Blessings. Ms. Strange, Mrs. Speakes, and Mrs. Koch's adviory classes were the top collectors. Mrs. Koch's class was the overall top contributor.

We are so thankful for our students and families who are willing to donate to these groups!!

The BCMS PTSA has purchased 4 picnic tables for the Colonel Courtyard outside of the cafeteria. This space can be used for special lunches, teacher lunch, or outdoor classrooms! We are very thankful to our PTSA for adding these tables to our school.
