Bourbon County Superintendent, Amy Baker announced the hiring of Kerrie M. Katz as the new Bourbon County High School Principal. Katz received her Bachelor of Science from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, and Missouri with a concentration in Sports Management, a Master of Science in Education concentrating in Special Education from Missouri State University and her Specialist in Education Administration and Superintendency also from Southwest Baptist University. She began her career as a Special Education teacher at Bolivar High School and moved on to the position of Special Education Process Coordinator. Katz spent 9 months working for the Department of Defense Education Agency in Ryukyu Middle School in Okinawa, Japan. Upon her return to the states she has held several positions in Scott County Schools including Special Education Teacher, Dean of Students/BAC, Assistant Principal and Interim Principal. Ms. Katz states that she is looking forward to serving the students and staff members in Bourbon County.
