Commencement for Bourbon County High School Seniors was June 1st before a packed to capacity gymnasium. Seniors congregated in the cafeteria for individual photos and to assemble in order to march in. The Bourbon County High School Band played “Pomp and Circumstance” as the graduates entered the gym preceded by the faculty of the school. Principal Kerry Katz gave the Welcome with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Jaime Hernandez Alvarez, Senior Class Secretary. The band then played the National Anthem as the crowd continued to stand. Hayley Hill, Senior Class Vice President gave the Invocation with Michael Seither, Senior Class President, introducing the platform guests. The Commencement Address was given by Brooke Honaker, Valedictorian. Kendyll Clark and Olivia Dotson sang “Never Alone” accompanied by Mark Murphy as the Special Music for the evening. Grace Staples, Salutorian, presented the Teacher of the Year Awards selected by the graduating class. These were Elementary School-Beverly Craycraft, Middle School-Tiffany Bagley and High School-Sara Wells. Diplomas were presented by Amy Baker, Superintendent of Bourbon County Schools, with Kelly McIntosh, Assistant Principal, announced the graduates names as they walked across the stage. The Last Words of Wisdom were by Elizabeth Childress and the Benediction by Alexia Roberts. The Recessional was once again by the Bourbon County High School Band as graduates filed out to the football field for photos and to meet family and friends. Ushers for the evening were Bourbon County FFA Officers and Junior Class Officers. Flowers were provided by Color Point of Paris.
