Bourbon County Schools hosted its second annual Kindergarten Camp Tuesday, July 24th through Friday, July 27th, 2018 at Bourbon Central Elementary. Fifty of our incoming kindergarten students began each day at 8 AM in the cafeteria for breakfast. After breakfast, students went to classrooms where they worked on kindergarten skills such as writing their name, reviewing shapes and colors, collaborating with their peers and teachers, and counting items. The camp is designed to help students transition from preschool, daycare, or home care to the kindergarten setting. Parents and teachers report those students attending the camp were much more comfortable in their classroom setting and ready to learn. The camp was sponsored by Bourbon Central Family Service Center and Cane Ridge Family Service Center.
