Flu Vaccines Available for Students 10/18/20-10/29/21

Sterling Health School Based Health Center will begin vaccinating students the week of October 18th through October 29th. Your student should have brought home a consent and vaccine information sheet prior to Fall Break. If you would like your student to receive the influenza vaccine at school, please complete and return the consent to your student's school. A letter will be sent home with your student the day they receive their vaccination. If you do NOT wish to have your child vaccinated, please DO NOT return the form to school. Also, please do not sign and return the vaccine consent if your child has already received their annual flu vaccine or if you are planning on taking them to their family doctor to get vaccinated. We will not vaccinate any student without prior consent. We will only be giving influenza vaccines. If you did not receive a vaccination consent form and vaccine information sheet please contact your child's school and we will send one home with your student.  If you have any questions or concerns, please call our School Based Health Coordinator at 859-788-2841 or you may call your school's health center directly at 859-585-2035.

The single best way to protect against influenza is to get vaccinated each year because protection against the flu wears off over time. In addition, the flu strains in the vaccine often change from year to year to match the flu viruses expected to be circulating in the community.
