Our Purpose:

The purpose of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) is to address the unique educational needs of children and youth who migrate with their families for agricultural or fishing work. These students often face challenges such as frequent moves, interrupted schooling, language barriers, and poverty, which can significantly impact their academic success. The MEP aims to ensure that these students have access to quality educational opportunities that support their academic, social, and emotional development. This includes providing supplemental instructional and support services, advocating for their educational rights, promoting parental involvement, and facilitating smooth transitions between schools. Ultimately, the goal of the MEP is to help migrant students overcome the barriers they face and achieve academic success on par with their non-migrant peers.
