We got a little ahead of ourselves with the Google Form permission slip trying to expedite the process. 👀

Per board policy, we must use the official district permission slip form for our Main Event trip.

All 11th and 12th grade students attending Main Event must complete the updated permission slip using the link in this post and email it to Nate.McCombs@bourbon.kyschools.us.

Here is the Link to the Main Event Permission Slip: [https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zIlnZTm5epr79SRANzSHUN82LmetqbxK/view?usp=drive_link]

Paper copies are also available in the front office for any student who needs one.

Thank you for your flexibility and for helping us stay in compliance while we celebrate our Colonels!

Tomorrow will be designated as NTI Day #2. Please have your student follow the instructions provided by their teachers for Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI). Daycare services will be open.

👋 FRESHMAN PARENT UPDATE: UPCOMING CLASSROOM VISITS 👋

Heads up, Class of 2029 Families!

The Counseling Department will be dropping in on freshman classes soon to have a heart-to-heart with students about finishing their first year strong. We know the transition to high school is big, so we will be spending time reviewing exactly what it takes to be successful as we head toward the Second Semester.

Here is the "Big 3" we will be covering with your students:

✅ The Grade Formula: We will review how the 75% Mastery / 25% Engagement split works. (Reminder: Doing homework is great, but they must master the test material to pass!)

✅ Eligibility (KHSAA Rules): We will explain the strict rules for athletes, band members, and club participants:

The Weekly Rule: If a student is failing 2 or more classes in a single week, they are ineligible to participate/play for that week.

The Yearly Rule: If a student fails their Freshman year, they are ineligible for the ENTIRE Sophomore year.

✅ Resources: We will make sure every student knows how to use BOCO time and when to attend after-school tutoring (Tues/Thurs) if they are falling behind.

🗣️ PARENT HOMEWORK: Check in with your freshman after our visit! Now is the perfect time to check Infinite Campus together and make a plan for the rest of the year.

Let’s work together to make sure they are ready to be Sophomores! 🎓🚀
